Each player picks a shape and a colour. This is the mark you'll play with for the whole match — and in a moment, it becomes your side of the coin.

The toss
There is no heads or tails. Your two symbols are the two faces of the coin. Whichever mark lands face-up opens the board.

Rounds & the break
Two different things happen, and they are not the same:
✅ Someone connects the line
You score a line. The board is wiped clean, and the winner opens the fresh board.
You're still in the same round — keep going and win more lines.
⏳ The round time runs out
You take a break. The board is NOT erased — every stone stays exactly where it is, same player to move.
The strategy isn't finished, so it carries into the next round.
Only a completed line clears the board. A round ending is just a rest.
Overtime
If the match clock ends and you're dead level on lines, there's one last short round — and it plays all the way out. Connect a line and you take the edge, but the round isn't over — your opponent still gets their answer. If nobody connects by the end, it comes down to how you played.
How overtime is decided
1Most lines connected — whoever connects more lines in the extra round takes it. Connecting doesn't end overtime early — both play to the final whistle.
2Score — every stone graded: does it build? does it block? Does it do both? (Doubled.)
3Efficiency — points per stone. No wasted moves.
4Precision — how many of your stones actually did something.
5Speed — fastest average move. Speed decides last, never first.
